Magnetic Chemical Flush of Heating system

Today the vast majority of houses have heating systems that are extremely inefficient and are using energy unnecessarily, resulting in higher costs. This can be due to a build-up of magnetite commonly referred to as “sludge”. This is the black substance comprised of dissolved and rusted metal from the pipework and radiators in your central heating system. This is very easily identified by cold spots at the bottom of your radiator or the radiator not heating at all.

The best and most efficient remedy for this is a Magnetic Chemical Flush of the heating system. A magnetic chemical flush is the process of clearing your system of those harsh unwanted materials. A magnetic chemical flush involves adding a chemical to your central heating system to break down impurities, which are picked up by magnetic filters during the process.

The chemical and loose debris are drained out with the water in the system, which is then replaced with clean water and a chemical inhibitor. A Chemical inhibitor is a product that is added to your Central Heating System to help prevent corrosion occurring.

You can avail of the added benefit of installing a Magnetic filter which helps to collect sludgy residue, and this will protect the internal components of your boiler. This will keep your heating system running to its maximum capacity and giving your boiler a longer life span. The best news is you can start saving up to 7% consistently on your energy bills when you have the peace of mind with your magnetic filter installed.

This whole process thoroughly cleans your entire system – providing consistent protection to your pipes, boiler and radiators. This will increase the heat output of your radiators by up to 47%

Balancing a Heating System

Very regularly we find that an unbalanced heating system can result in a certain number of radiators not working in your home. The hot water flowing through the central heating pipework will always take the easiest route available which will usually result in the radiators nearest the boiler working more efficiently than those further away. A simple system balance will ensure that there is an equal flow of water through each radiator allowing the house to be heated equally and sometimes quicker. The flow of hot water in the central heating pipework will often spend more time circulating through the hot water cylinder coil. A simple fix for this is an installation of a balancing valve on the return pipe on the cylinder coil which will help control the balance of the system further.
